Liverpool travels to Bournemouth looking to end it's peculiar run of four straight Premier League draws. The Reds have begun 2026 with ties against Leeds United, Fulham, Arsenal and Burnley, the last of which drew boos at Anfield last week.
Despite that, Arne Slot insisted ahead of Saturday’s trip to Bournemouth that he is confident his team is improving and has real belief it will fight off the chasing Champions League pack to secure a top four (or five) finish.
The Reds showed again in midweek how well they can function when given space to run in behind, something which has been sorely lacking this season against sides that typically set up in a low block and play more on the counter-attack.

Andoni Iraola’s attack-minded principle should at least provide some gaps for Liverpool to exploit, and matches involving the Cherries have produced more goals this season than any other Premier League side.
That was evident on the opening weekend, when the teams played out a six-goal thriller at Anfield, which was decided by late goals from Federico Chiesa and Mohamed Salah. Slot would certainly accept that outcome again.
