Bournemouth could be without eight players for Saturday’s Premier League clash against Liverpool, with the Cherries facing a minor injury crisis in the attacking areas.

The Cherries have been rocked by a spate of recent injuries to their creative midfielder, while the departure of Antonie Semenyo has also left them lacking, a fact Andoni Iraola couldn’t shy away from in Friday’s press conference.

Marcus Tavernier added to the mounting list of absentees on Monday night when he suffered a hamstring injury in the 1-1 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion. David Brooks also sustained an ankle problem the week prior, in the FA Cup exit at the hands of Newcastle United.

They join Justin Kluivert and ex-Red Ben Gannon-Doak on the sidelines, meaning Iraola may have to find an inventive solution to his selection headache.

“I think it's very similar. I think everyone understands our situation is very delicate,” the Bournemouth boss said on the team’s injury issues.

“We are very thin, especially with Tavs’ injury in the offensive positions, in the wingers, especially without Brooks, Antoine, Justin and Tavernier.

“Basically, they are the four players that have covered these three positions behind the striker during the first half of the season.

“We’ve seen Junior Kroupi participating more, but we need more because at the end we need also the subs to give us this energy in the second half and right now it's difficult because we don't have numbers.”

Bournemouth have been boosted by the possible return of Enes Unal, who Iraola said was set to undergo a fitness test on Friday.

Meanwhile, Alex Toth, who signed this week from Ferencvaros, could go straight into the line-up.

“Yes, he is definitely available,” said Iraola. “Probably in other situations, we will allow him a little bit more time to train, to explain more things, but in the situation that we find ourselves in right now, he has to be ready because definitely we will need him.

“He comes in a good physical condition and he's available and he is ready for whatever we consider.”

Elsewhere, Bournemouth remains without Tyler Adams, who suffered a serious knee injury last month, while Julio Soler is also absent. Third-choice goalkeeper Will Dennis is the final player who will miss out due to injury.
