Director of football‘in direct talks’with Mikel Arteta to get Arsenal transfer deal over line

Ajax’s director of football Jordi Cruyff is said to be in direct talks with Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta in order to push the deal for Oleksandr Zinchenko over the line before the close of the transfer window.

The Ukrainian defender has spent the first half of the season on loan with Nottingham Forest but having struggled to get the minutes that he would like, the decision has been made to cut that loan short and send the player to the Netherlands.

According to Voetbal Primeur, Cruyff is pushing the Gunners to complete a deal. The report claims the director of football spent three hours in the car driving from Barcelona to Villarreal to watch that match before calling Arteta to make the Zinchenko deal happen.

Earlier this week, reports claimed the ARSENAL loanee was set to be recalled to the Emirates, prior to a loan move to the Dutch giants, however, it’s now being reported the Gunners are looking to offload Zinchenko on a permanent deal.

Zinchencho needed this move, that switch to Nottingham Forest was not working out and leaving the Premier League for the Dutch League is a great decision. And if he performs well, maybe he will get a permanent switch to Ajax.

It will be interesting to see just how this all plays out, but Zinchenko needs to make sure that he gets the move that is best for his career, he cannot be sitting on the bench every week at this stage of his career.

ARSENAL may well get this loan deal over the line, and then in the summer, let Zinchenko leave on a permanent basis.
