Tottenham are said to be chasing a second Liverpool star amid talks over Andy Robertson.

Spurs are currently in the bottom half of the table, but they are within six points of seventh place and certainly not out of contention to secure some sort of European football for next season.

Consistency will be key, though, and Tottenham do not currently look capable of achieving a consistent run. Injuries have not helped, with Mohammed Kudus, Richarlison and Rodrigo Bentancur out for at least a couple of months, while Ben Davies is out until some time in April.

Spurs are also waiting for Dejan Kulusevski to return to fitness after a long-term issue, while Brennan Johnson was sold early in the window. Frank needs more options, particularly offensively, but the Spurs recruitment chiefs know there are holes throughout this squad.

Defensive depth is something Tottenham want to address, with Andy Robertson now looking likely to arrive on a deal from Liverpool, with the Lilywhites expected to pay to seal a deal now rather than waiting until the summer to chase a free deal.

Elsewhere, attacking signings are likely to be a priority, but there are now reports that Spurs will also look to add a midfielder as they prepare to allow Yves Bissouma to leave the club at the end of his contract this summer.

Jones a possible option

According to the usually reliable DaveOCKOP, Spurs are willing to offer £30million to sign Liverpool star Curtis Jones to go with their signing of Conor Gallagher. He posted on X: “EXCL: Tottenham are believed to still have a keen interest in Curtis Jones despite signing Conor Gallagher. Jones has featured regularly this season for Liverpool but may be interested in a new challenge.

“At the moment, it is believed that Spurs would be willing to offer an opening offer of £30m. Liverpool would likely seek more. One to watch, especially if Wharton to Liverpool interest picks up. John Heitinga is a fan of both Jones and Robertson.”

Jones has played regularly for Liverpool this season, making 28 appearances across all competitions, but only 10 of his 19 Premier League appearances have been starts. Jones is out of contract in 2027, so Liverpool will feel they either need to tie him down to a new deal by the summer or consider selling to avoid the midfielder going into the final year of his deal.

Whether Jones is willing to sign a new deal or not remains to be seen, with the midfielder perhaps feeling as though an exit might give him a chance to become a bonified starter somewhere away from Anfield. Spurs are already looking to take advantage of one contract situation with Robertson, and while the Jones situation is not as glaring, it could be another that the North London club look to exploit.
