Italian confirms‘green light’given for 29-year old to make Liverpool switch

Liverpool have been given the green light to bring left-back Kostas Tsimikas back to Anfield, according to Fabrizio Romano as the Reds need back-up if Andy Robertson completes his move to Tottenham.

Over the past few days, news has broken that LIVERPOOL and Tottenham are in talks over a transfer deal for Robertson, who is open to leaving the Reds in order to get some much needed game time.

Robertson himself has had to make do with being backup to Milos Kerkez this term after the summer signing firmly established himself as the clubs number one left-back under Slot with some impressive performances.

And With Andrew Robertson possibly set to move to Tottenham, LIVERPOOL have made the decision to bring back Tsimikas, who previously playing understudy to the Scotland international at Anfield under Jurgen Klopp for so many years.

And now Romano has claimed that Roma have given the green light for the defender to make the move back – Romano posted: “Understand AS Roma have already given green light to Kostas Tsimikas return to Liverpool if Robertson joins Spurs. It’s almost over between Tsimikas and Roma with#LFC ready to welcome the left back again. No recall clause but club to club contact, as@JacobsBen reports.”

IcFootballnews Says…

First of all, it is a massive shock to see that Robertson could leave Liverpool this month for Tottenham, he is a solid enough player to keep in the squad until at least the summer window.

Many Tottenham fans will also be wondering why the club are trying to sign a player that is on a downward spiral and not any better than what the club already has. But if LIVERPOOL can get a few quid out of the sale, it makes sense.

It is just a shock to see this transfer deal happen that is for sure.
