Sky Germany reporter names Champions League winner Chelsea are “closely monitoring”

Chelsea are among the Premier League clubs closely monitoring PSG teenager Ibrahim Mbaye according to reports.

The Blues were expected to be quiet this month, but their plans have changed, and they are looking to bring in a centre back and possibly a midfielder.

Chelsea are believed to have identified Rennes star Jeremy Jacquet as their priority centre back target, whilst Jacobo Ramon and Marcos Senesi are said to be on their shortlist.

Chelsea interested in PSG winger Ibrahim Mbaye

Given the injury issues with Roemo Lavia and Dario Essugo, Chelsea are said to have made an approach to Juventus to sign Douglas Luiz on loan.

Luiz is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest, so that deal would need to be terminated first, whilst Chelsea are thought to want a dry loan with no obligation to buy.

However, it appears the Blues could be looking to add a winger and Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg has reported they are interested in PSG’s Mbaye.

He took to X.com and said:

“Several Premier League clubs would love to sign Ibrahim#Mbaye before Deadline Day.

“Chelsea and Aston Villa, for example, are closely monitoring him.#CFC

“However,#PSG want to keep him. A new contract is even possible. There are currently NO thoughts of letting him go.

Mbaye has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season, and was part of the Senegal squad which won the African Cup of Nations.

Chelsea linked with Anis HadjMoussa

Mbaye isn’t the only winger Chelsea have been linked with, and the Blues are thought to have shown interest in Feyenoord’s Anis HadjMoussa.
