John Terry shares his ‘honest’ verdict on Liam Rosenior’s first few weeks as Chelsea manager

The departure of the much-loved Enzo Maresca has put even more pressure on Liam Rosenior to deliver at Chelsea.

Three wins from four is a great start on paper for Liam Rosenior, but they’ve all been closer games than many would have hoped for.

It’s far too soon to judge Rosenior as he’s not been given anywhere near enough time to get his plans in place and the players in tune with his way of thinking, but improvements are required.

Chelsea supporters were heard criticising his style of play against Charlton, whilst Pafos and Brentford both had chances to score in those two close encounters.

And John Terry has now chimed in with his honest view on Rosenior since being appointed as Chelsea boss.

What is the biggest difference you’ve noticed between Enzo Maresca and Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea?👀

John Terry demands more from Liam Rosenior’s Chelsea

John Terry holds high standards after his incredibly successful career at Chelsea, which resulted in 15 trophies, including five Premier League titles and a Champions League.

He’s seen the very best managers Chelsea have had to offer, from Jose Mourinho to Carlo Ancelotti.

Liam Rosenior is yet to win him over at Stamford Bridge, as he took to his personal TikTok to reveal his thoughts on the new Chelsea boss.

“To be honest, I’ve not seen much change since Liam’s come in as manager, but also, in his defence, he’s not had much time to work with the players as well.

John Terry is right, Chelsea haven’t gone forwards under Liam Rosenior yet😬

“But result against Pafos in the week, not our best performance, not our best performance against Brentford, but we managed to win the last two games as well, which is always important.

And also winning these games when you’re not playing at your best as well and then knowing that there’s still more to come. So I want to see a little bit of change from Maresca’s team to Liam’s team in the next few weeks when he does get a bit more time to work with a group.

“But the most important thing at the moment, especially in the London derby, is to pick up the three points.”

John Terry’s thinking behind Liam Rosenior

John Terry’s comments about Liam Rosenior reflect a classic captain’s perspective.

For a legend like Terry, the fact that Chelsea is winning ugly against teams like Pafos and Brentford is more than just luck; it is a sign that the group is developing a resilient edge.

January is a busy time with matches coming thick and fast, so setting a target of the next few weeks allows a proper judgement on the start he’s made at Chelsea.

Despite not much of a difference so far, the important thing is that the Blues have picked up three wins from a possible four, which is better than the no wins in seven before he joined.
