A timely boost for the Reds.
Liverpool’s season has been far from consistent, and injuries have not helped that.
There are a few players that have suffered significant injuries so far this season.
Summer signing Giovanni Leoni tore his ACL on his debut for the club and that ruled him out for the season.
Another new recruit Alexander Isak broke his leg in Liverpool’s win over Tottenham Hotspur in December and that will see him sidelined for an extended period of time too.
Injuries are a part of football, but it can often be a long road back to full fitness.
The U18s are currently playing at the Liverpool academy against Burnley U18’s and after going a goal down they responded brilliantly go 4-1 up at half-time.
Josh Sonni Lambi netted a first half-hat trick and Joshua Abe was the other goalscorer.
But the more important mention is that whilst the U18s play their football, in the distance, Jayden Danns has been spotted running out on the grass on a nearby pitch.
This is significant and shows a big step forward in the striker’s return to football.
Jayden Danns saw his loan move to Sunderland cut short after multiple injury setbacks left the club with no other choice.
The young striker has been sidelined with a serious hamstring injury since September and after planning to return to training at the start of the new year, another setback was suffered, ruling him out until at least February.
The striker has made one appearance for the first team this season, coming on for 15 minutes against Southampton in the FA Cup.
Seeing him out on the pitch is a sign that he nears a return to full team training, and it remains to be seen whether Arne Slot will re-integrate him back into the first team set up.
