Liverpool returns to Premier League action on Saturday when it takes on an out-of-form Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.
The Reds head to the south coast on the back of an excellent Champions League victory over Marseille and will look to extend their 14-match unbeaten run against Bournemouth. However, that streak includes four consecutive Premier League draws, a record Arne Slot is keen to improve on.
Somehow, Liverpool has managed to hold on to fourth place in that time, but with five teams heading into the weekend within three points of the champions, Slot knows his side must start picking up wins.
He cut a confident figure in Fiday’s press conference and revealed that, despite the team’s disappointing recent results, he believes his side will secure a top-four spot.
He will also feel optimistic about his side’s chances of beating Bournemouth, with the Cherries picking up just one win in their last 14 matches.

The Cherries' recent downturn really is alarming, with Bournemouth winning just one of the last 14 games in all competitions. Already dumped out of the FA Cup, it has slipped to 15th in the table and could be casting a few anxious glances back towards the relegation places. Bournemouth drew 1-1 against Brighton on Monday and did win last time out at home when it hosted Tottenham, although the recent run of poor results includes dropped points against Burnley and West Ham.
