Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has claimed that Chelsea, Aston Villa and Manchester United target Jean-Philippe Mateta is yet to hand in a transfer request following reports that the French international wants to leave the club.
CHELSEA spent some serious money in the transfer window adding some quality players to that attack, with the arrival of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap two stars that were supposed to be the forwards that would bang in the goals.
Both players have put in some impressive performances at times this season, but there is a feeling that Liam Rosenior needs a more powerful striker to lead that Chelsea attack in order to get back into the Champions League next season.
Aston Villa and Juventus are interested in signing the Eagles striker in January, but reports on the Daily Mail website have now claimed that CHELSEA are one of the clubs that could make a surprise move for Mateta, and have even made contact over a move
But despite the many reports in the media which have claimed that Mateta has handed in a transfer request, Glasner revealed that there have yet to be any formal bids for the player, but the right offer will get a transfer deal done.
“He didn’t hand a transfer request and we have received no bid right now,” Glasner said.
“I speak with many players about different topics but they deserve is that I don’t tell it publicly.
“Every player there is a price where a club says, okay, evaluating the whole situation – age, contract duration – and a price where the club agrees to a deal. But again there’s no bid come in and he didn’t hand in a transfer request, so he will play on Sunday.’

If CHELSEA are looking for a January bargain that will score goals in the Premier League and make that attack much better, then Mateta could be a great short term answer for the club.
