Tottenham Hotspur have approached Liverpool over signing Andy Robertson.
Thomas Frank was tight-lipped on Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in signing Andy Robertson.
The Liverpool vice-captain could bring the curtain down on his eight-and-a-half year Anfield career. Robertson is out of contract at Liverpool in June and he’s been down the pecking order this season, with Milos Kerkez first choice left-back.
Spurs have made an approach to sign the Scotland international before the January transfer window closes. A reported £5 million package has been discussed between the two teams.
Robertson may feel he needs regular football as he will captain Scotland at the World Cup later this year. Tottenham are hoping to add the experience of the 31-year-old to their squad after Ben Davies was forced to undergo ankle surgery.
Spurs were held to a 2-2 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor. Head coach Frank was asked about the speculation around Robertson - but the Tottenham chief did not comment. He said at his post-match press conference: “Just on that one, in general, you don’t know me that well. I don’t speak about players who are not at our club. Except [Cristiano] Ronaldo and [Lionel] Messi. So, that’s no comment.”
