Liverpool are showing no signs from waking up from their injury nightmare as another star limped off during their latest clash.
Joe Gomez collided with Alisson when trying to stop Evanilson from the opening the scoring at the Vitality Stadium. The English defender had come sliding across, as the Bournemouth man turned the ball past Alisson, only to collide with the onrushing keeper.
Gomez limped off the pitch to receive treatment, while Ryan Gravenberch filled on the bench. Gomez did return to the pitch, but he soon signalled he needed to come off to Arne Slot, who readied Wataru Endo to take his place.
However, the pair ignored the Dutchman, leaving the ball in play for several minutes - which, in turn, allowed the Cherries to grab a second from Alex Jimenez.
"Gomez injury means 34 year old Van Dijk is the only CB in Liverpool first team squad. After selling Quansah, an injured Kid (Giovani) and fumbling Guehi. We deserve to concede as many goals as possible. Hughes, Edwards, Slot and FSG are rubbish," one fan fumed.
