Liam Rosenior has done a really interesting interview with NBC Sport in the USA on the eve of his second Premier League game in charge.
It will be his fifth match overall, so fans are starting to get an idea of how he will have his side playing. One things that’s been very notable is a continuation of Enzo Maresca’s intentions of playing out from the back, with goalkeepers playing to defenders in their own box, even under serious pressure.
It’s not something fans love – you can feel the nerves at Stamford Bridge when it happens. Many hoped the idea would go with Maresca. But Rosenior denies that playing short is an unchangeable part of his philosophy.

“If you analyse the way my teams play, the way we build; we have a long option, we have a mid range option, and we have a short option,” the coach explained.
“I’m not asking a team to play out from the back for no reason. It’s where the space is. You play where the space is available to you. So, yeah, there’s many different ways you can win games of football. I’m not dogmatic in terms of what I want to do. I want to win.”
It will be very interesting to see how things change as the new manager actually accumulates time on the training pitch with his group.

Chelsea are being linked with a potential loan for Josh Acheampong, who is apparently wanted by Crystal Palace. We’re not sure fans would love that move, but it would give the youngster more game time.
Rosenior was asked about Cole Palmer’s status in his press conference today. He continued to try to play down the rumours that the attacker isn’t happy at Stamford Bridge.
