Steph Curry continues to showcase different shoes as he’s on his free agent tour. On Jan. 20, Curry was seen wearing a certain pair of shoes during warm-ups before the game against the Toronto Raptors. But these shoes weren’t even basketball shoes, they were tennis shoes.
Curry decided to pay respect to tennis star Roger Federer and wear his signature ‘On THE Roger Pro Fire’ tennis shoes. It was reported by Brett Siegel that it was the first time any pro basketball player has worn On footwear on court.
Curry continues to wear other athletes shoes as he’s not tied down to any shoe brand. As the season continues, we will see Curry wearing a different pair of shoes each game.

Last year, the Chase Center hosted the Laver Cup. The Laver Cup is a three-day international indoor tennis tournament between Team Europe and Team World. Six of the top men from Europe face off against six of the top men from the world. Each player on the winning team receives $250,000. Federer is one of the people who created the event and he’s made four appearances playing in the event.
With the event being held at the home of the Golden State Warriors, Curry made an appearance. Curry has expressed that he’s a tennis fan and came to show his support. The two sports stars shared a moment and had a conversation with each other. Curry gave Federer a signed bottle of his bourbon and Federer gave Curry a signed RF 01 tennis racket, a book, and Team World and Team Europe jackets signed by the teams.
A nice gesture made from Curry to attend the event and give fans a surprise. Federer has history with Curry and the Warriors as well. In 2022, Warriors’ head coach Steve Kerr said that Curry and the team drew inspiration from a meeting they had with Federer. The team had the opportunity to ask Federer questions and hear about his journey.

Curry was recently named a starter for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, marking his 12th All-Star appearance and he continues to make a major impact on the court. He also continues to wow fans and media with the shoes he decides to wear. No one knows which show Curry will decide to wear on a given day, but he has everyone tuned in when he steps on the court.
Curry was with Under Armour for 12 years, signing with the company in 2013. While Curry has not spoke on anything about signing with another company, he’s focused on the season and getting his team in a good position to make the playoffs. He’s also enjoying the opportunity to wear other brands and support other athletes. The four-time NBA champion has cemented himself as one of the all-time greats and has accomplished a lot throughout his career. Whenever he decides to announce his shoe decision, it will attract many people across the sports world.
