The Celtics have two starters listed in Jaylen Brown (hamstring tightness) and Neemias Queta (illness) for the 8 p.m. Saturday game against the Bulls. But they’re both probable, meaning they’re likely to play the second night of the back-to-back. Jayson Tatum (Achilles) and Josh Minott (ankle) both remain out.
The C’s played a double overtime thriller in a win over the Nets on Friday. Their starters played heavy minutes, including Brown playing 46 minutes. Despite that, it doesn’t look like Boston will be resting any starters. Derrick White sat Friday’s win in Brooklyn for rest, so he should be fresh.
Brown recorded a triple-double against the Nets, though he admitted after the game he played through the hamstring tightness. It’s the second time this week Brown has been listed on the injury report with the hamstring issue.
“Just some soreness or something like that,” Brown said. “This time of year, everybody’s got something. It’s just the mental fortitude of it. Injuries have a way of messing with your head a little bit. I want to be available for my team, but I also want to take care of my body. It’s been a long, physical season. So just try to get as much sleep, as much recovery.”
Queta was also listed on the injury report ahead of the Nets game Friday with the illness before ultimately playing. Two-way big man Amari Williams ended up finishing out the win after both Queta and Luka Garza fouled out. But it appears the Celtics will be a full go against the Bulls on Saturday.
