The NBA announced on Saturday afternoon that the 27-18 Minnesota Timberwolves game schedule for tonight against the 25-21 Golden State Warriors has been postponed due to the escalating tensions in the city of Minneapolis.
According to ESPN insider Shams Charania the postponement comes “in the wake of a man shot and killed Saturday in a confrontation with federal agents in the city”

Six minutes after his original post, Shams announced that tonight’s game has been rescheduled for tomorrow evening at 5:30 p.m. CST, meaning the Wolves just added a back-to-back to their 2025-26 schedule.

Today’s postponement comes in the wake of a 37-year-old white male, who’s now been identified as Alex Jeffrey Pretti (per Star Tribune), being shot and killed on Nicollet Avenue late Saturday morning by Federal ICE agents. Pretti was armed at the time of the incident.
Saturday’s tragedy — which was caught on camera and quickly uploaded to the internet from multiple angles — has inflamed ongoing ICE protests in Minneapolis, which were already growing more hostile by the day.
The Minnesota Timberwolves will (hopefully) take the Target Center floor on Sunday evening as losers of four-straight games. Both tomorrow and Monday’s games are against Golden State.
