An NBA match between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves has been postponed after an ICE agent shot and killed a man in downtown Minneapolis on Saturday.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported that the game will be moved - to 4.30pm local time - on Sunday after an unarmed man was killed by federal agents during a protest on Saturday.
The NBA released an official statement with regards to Saturday's postponement.
It read: "The National Basketball Association (NBA) game scheduled for today between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center has been postponed.
"The decision was made to prioritize the safety and security of the Minneapolis community.
"The game has been rescheduled for tomorrow (Jan 25) at 4.30pm CT at Target Center."
ESPN host Ernie Johnson broke the news of the game's postponement live on air, but was also unable to provide further details at the time.
Johnson turned to fellow ESPN panellist Charles Barkley for a reaction. "Somebody's gotta step up and be adults," the Hall of Fame forward said.
"Two people have died for no reason, and it's just sad."
The shooting occurred two miles from the Target Center. The identity of the shooter has not yet been revealed.
It's not the first time that a game has been postponed due to a shooting by a federal or police official.
During the 2020 NBA playoffs in the Florida bubble, the Milwaukee Bucks' match was cancelled as players refused to take to the court following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, who was a Milwaukee resident.
