Amid significant political turmoil in Minneapolis, the NBA decided to postpone the Minnesota Timberwolves’ game Saturday night.
Anthony Edwards and the Timberwolves will face the Golden State Warriors at a later date. However, the league opted to move the game after a terrible situation unfolded just two miles from the Target Center.

Various new outlets have closely followed the situation after federal agents allegedly shot and killed a Minnesota resident. This comes after protests in the area have grown recently with increased political tension.
The NBA has postponed Saturday night's Timberwolves-Warriors game in Minneapolis after a local resident was shot and killed by federal agents.
The shooting took place about two miles from Target Center.

The league announced in a statement that it will move the game to Sunday, Jan. 25 with a 5:30 p.m. tip off.

“The National Basketball Association game scheduled for today between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves at Target Center has been postponed,” the NBA said in its full release. “The decision was made to prioritize the safety and security of the Minneapolis community.”

Meanwhile, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has been a strong advocate of fighting gun violence for years, and has spoken out on the topic across numerous occasions. His father was a victim of a shooting in Beirut over 40 years ago.
