Manchester United travel to face table-topping Arsenal on Sunday looking to pull off another shock result under Michael Carrick. The Red Devils are riding high after their stunning 2-0 derby win over Manchester City last weekend, which extended their unbeaten league run to five matches.
Following that triumph at the Etihad, United sit fifth in the Premier League table with 35 points from 22 games. They are just one point behind fourth-placed Liverpool, with Champions League qualification remains very much within reach. Victory at the Emirates would bring them to within seven points of leaders Arsenal.
Their opponents, Arsenal, are flying at the summit of the table. The Gunners have lost just two games in all competitions this season, neither of which were at home. Arsenal sit four points clear at the top with 50 points from 22 matches.

The young Belgian kept only his third clean sheet for United in the Manchester derby victory last weekend but won’t expect a shutout against league leaders Arsenal. Lammens has been solid between the sticks and will need to be at his best to keep out Arsenal’s attack.
Defence: Diogo Dalot, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw
Carrick is likely to retain the 4-2-3-1 that dismantled Manchester City. Matthijs de Ligt remains sidelined with a back injury that has kept him out for nearly two months. Shaw slots in at left-back with Dalot on the right, though the Portuguese was perhaps fortunate not to be sent off early in the derby before steadying himself.
Midfield: Casemiro, Kobbie Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes
Casemiro, albeit having a few shaky moments against Man City, was immense otherwise. He will retain his place alongside Kobbie Mainoo who was brilliant in the derby as well. And the most obvious one, Bruno Fernandes, completes the midfield.
Attack: Amad Diallo, Bryan Mbeumo, Patrick Dorgu
Amad, Bryan Mbeumo and Noussair Mazraoui have all returned from the Africa Cup of Nations. Cameroon and Ivory Coast were knocked out at the quarter-final stage, while Morocco lost in the final to Senegal. Whether Mazraoui is ready for action after a hectic month remains to be seen. Amad’s return has been timely given United are using natural wingers, and the Ivorian appears to have the nod over Matheus Cunha on the right. Mbeumo started up front against City and excelled with his frequent darts in behind. The Cameroon international will be key on the counter. Dorgu thrived as an emergency winger against City, scoring his second goal in six games.
