A new rumor suggests one of the New York Knicks‘ other top players could be added to a blockbuster trade that includes Karl-Anthony Towns for Giannis Antetokounmpo.
This, by no means, has been a bad season for the NY Knicks. They head into the weekend with a 26-18 record and just two games out of the second seed in the Eastern Conference. The problem is their performance so far has not lived up to the expectations of one of the most expensive rosters in the NBA.
Since the calendar switched to 2026, they are 3-8 and have their fanbase very concerned. It has led to a lot of speculation about coach Mike Brown’s future and consistent trade chatter. Especially about a blockbuster trade for the Milwaukee Bucks legend. A player the team’s front office has been hot for over the last couple of years.
With the Bucks in the midst of a terrible season, a deal seems likely at some point between now and the summer. If the NY Knicks were to complete a trade, Towns is a lock to be in the deal. Because it would give Milwaukee a high-impact player back in return, but he is needed to make the money end of it work.
However, it’s unclear if the team would have enough to complete a swap if Milwaukee makes it a league-wide bidding war for Antetokounmpo.
Could Mikal Bridges be added to Giannis Antetokounmpo trade to NY Knicks?

That means the trade could include another team, and according to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Portland Trail Blazers might be that club.
“Portland still controls Milwaukee’s draft capital in 2028, 2029, and 2030 thanks to the teams’ Jrue Holiday-for-Damian Lillard swap,” Fischer wrote. “And I’m told Blazers officials have always viewed Antetokounmpo’s potential Milwaukee exit as a chance to improve their own roster by jumping into a multi-team deal.”
Adding some of those picks to a trade would make it far easier to complete for the NY Knicks. But what would Portland get in return? Fischer suggests it would likely need to be guard Mikal Bridges.
“League sources say Portland has long admired New York’s Mikal Bridges going back to Lillard’s first stint as a Blazer.”
