Injury Update: The latest on Devin Booker and Jalen Green

A fan base waits with bated breath, trying to learn the fate of its two highest-paid players, both injured in the same game.

Jalen Green, who has already missed 41 games this season with ongoing hamstring issues, re-aggravated that same hamstring in the first quarter Friday night against the Atlanta Hawks. It did not look nearly as severe as the injury he suffered earlier in the season on November 8 against the Los Angeles Clippers, but it was enough for the team to pull him from the game. He did not return, with the Suns citing precautionary reasons.

As the final seconds ticked away in the third quarter, Devin Booker went down. He tweaked his right ankle, collapsed to the floor, and immediately grabbed at it in pain. It looked ugly in real time, the kind of moment that makes your stomach drop before the replay even hits the screen. He was helped to the lockerroom, where he too would not return.

With the Suns set to return home Saturday night to face the Miami Heat, all eyes now shift to the injury report, searching for any semblance of clarity. There were no official comments regarding the severity of either injury, but we did learn that Jalen Green is listed as questionable, while Devin Booker has already been ruled out.

The Suns tip off against the Heat at 6:00pm. We will know more roughly an hour before game time when the team releases its final injury report.

Stay tuned to Bright Side of the Sun as we continue monitoring what has quickly become a volatile situation.
