Latest on Anthony Davis trade: Mavs star comfortable to stay amid Rich Paul demands

Per Tim MacMahin, Davis doesn't necessarily agree that he has to leave Dallas despite Rich Paul's trade demands.

In his courtside report during the Los Angeles Lakers-Dallas Mavericks showdown on Sunday, ESPN's Tim MacMahon revealed that Anthony Davis is currently settled in his situation within the franchise despite his agent Rich Paul's trade demands.

"There are trade discussions that his agent Rich Paul has made it clear he thinks it's in AD's best interest to be traded. AD does not necessarily agree, though," MacMahon said.

"I have been told he has not been pushing to be moved and is comfortable here in Dallas."

Davis is owed $58.5 million next season and has a $62.8 million player option in 2027-28. He will be eligible for a four-year, $275 million maximum extension in August.

But considering Davis' health, in which he only played 20 games so far this season and is set to return by March as he continues his hand recovery, a significant long-term extension might not be on the table for the big man from Dallas.

Right now, reports suggest that the Davis trade front has taken a huge decline. Both the Toronto Raptors and the Atlanta Hawks, two of the well-known suitors of Davis, aren't interested anymore in trade talks with the Mavericks.

This season, the Mavericks have struggled with a 19-27 record. They are now 12th in the Western Conference ladder.
