Jusuf Nurkic Makes Franchise History As Jazz Can’t Beat The Heat

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Jazz fell to 1-2 on their homestand with a blowout loss to the Miami Heat at the Delta Center on Saturday.

The silver lining of the result came from veteran big man Jusuf Nurkic, who set a new franchise record with three straight triple-doubles. With three total, he moved into third on the Jazz’s all-time leaderboard as well.

With three-point struggles telling the story for Utah, Brice Sensabaugh led the team in scoring with 23 points and was the only player able to make their mark from downtown. Keyonte George trailed him at 19, and Nurkic followed suit with 17.

The Jazz will play three more games at home over the next six days before embarking on another long road trip next weekend.

Is it just me, or does Keyonte George have a highlight dunk like once every game now?

It used to be like once a month I want to say.

After one, the @utahjazz trail the @miamiheat 35-34.

It’s amazing this game is as close as it is considering the Heat are getting (at least) a second chance every trip of the floor.

Jazz have 9 defensive rebounds total midway through the second quarter, Miami has 18(!!!!) offensive rebounds.

Up there with Keyonte in isolation and Ace off the catch, Cody Williams on defense is one of my favorite things to watch for the Jazz.

Ace Bailey looks like one of his legs is bugging him a little bit, but he’s had a good start to the 3rd quarter.

He’s gotting good at reading his defender’s eyes, seeing when they turn their head, and darting to the rim on a backcut for a dunk.

Gets him 4-6 points every night.

— Ben Anderson (@BensHoops) January 25, 2026

Three blocks for Cody Williams tonight, all of them as the on-ball defender.

He seems to get a little better every game.
