Man City are keen on recruiting Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson this summer, according to reports.
The 23-year-old’s form has grabbed the attention of several teams, including Manchester United and Chelsea, but the Daily Mail claim Pep Guardiola’s side could be in the mix sign him as well.
However, any substantial offer for Anderson is expected to hinge on the future of Rodri.

If the Spanish international can prove his fitness in the second half of this season, then a bid is deemed less likely.
Rodri’s contract situation may also play a role in any move for Anderson. He has less than 18 months remaining on his current deal, and if he doesn’t sign an extension, Director of Football Hugo Viana will need to put contingency plans in place for a replacement.
Anderson has been described as an “elite player”
England manager Thomas Tuchel gave the midfielder his first senior cap back in September, and he was effusive in his praise when speaking about the Forest star’s abilities:
“He is an elite player with the right attitude and a lot of talent. He is fulfilling his role in the best way possible, so we are very happy with him.”
Man City would need to pay a sizeable sum
Nottingham Forest are aware that Anderson is attracting a lot of interest. They bought him from Newcastle for £35m at the start of last season, and there is a feeling that they could demand upwards of £100m from potential suitors now.
It means that the Cityzens may need to get close to breaking their transfer record if they want to win the race for the Englishman. You can’t see such an offer being tabled unless it becomes clear that Rodri is not part of the club’s future.
