Boston Celtics' loss to the Chicago Bulls helped Detroit Pistons to rise to the top of the Eastern Conference ahead of the All-Star break with 4 more wins than the Greens, as JB Bickerstaff received a call to be a coach in the All-Star Game.
Detroit Pistons' rise to the top of the Eastern Conference is one of the biggest stories of the 2025-26 NBA campaign.
Detroit Pistons / Schedule
Sitting comfortably at the top of the East with a 32-11 record, they are en route to lead the Conference ahead of the upcoming All-Star break in February.
After Boston Celtics lost to the Chicago Bulls in a thrilling encounter in Ilinois last night, NBA announced that Pistons' head coach JB Bickerstaff will coach one of the three teams in the All-Star Game, set to debut its new USA vs. World format.
This marks the first time a Pistons coach received this achievement since Flip Saunders in 2006.
"Head coach J.B. Bickerstaff of the Detroit Pistons has earned a spot as a head coach in the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, set for Sunday, Feb. 15 at 5 PM ET on NBA on NBC. Bickerstaff will coach one of the three teams in the new U.S. vs. World format,” NBA Communications posted on X.
In the Western Conference, even though Oklahoma City Thunder are at the top, their coach Mark Daigneault won't be at the event, being ineligible as he coached at last year's All-Star Game, so the rights are translated to the second best team, San Antonio Spurs and their head coach Mitch Johnson.
