Trent Alexander-Arnold's market valuation has declined throughout the campaign in which he departed Liverpool for Real Madrid.
The past few months have proved difficult for both the Spanish team and the full-back, whose move was driven by considerable career aspirations. Rather than making his mark in the Spanish capital after allowing his Liverpool contract to expire, Alexander-Arnold has been plagued by recurring fitness problems.
Most recently, he has been unavailable since early December with a thigh problem and isn't anticipated to return until the beginning of next month. During his absence, Real Madrid has fallen behind Barcelona in the La Liga standings and suffered defeat to the Catalans in the Spanish Super Cup final earlier this month.

Xabi Alonso was dismissed from his managerial position following that setback and succeeded by another former Reds player, Alvaro Arbeloa.
Adding to Alexander-Arnold's woes whilst still out injured, the latest reports from Spain suggest his new manager has already informed the England international he is not part of his plans at Madrid.
Reflecting just how significantly the full-back's stock has fallen amid his limited playing time since hoisting the Premier League trophy with Liverpool last May, his market valuation is now believed to have decreased.

Transfermarkt's database lists Alexander-Arnold's current transfer worth at €70 million ($82.8 million) - a $5.9 million reduction from the €75 million ($88.7 million) he was valued at during his final month at Anfield.
As per Transfermarkt, this valuation places the 27-year-old as the globe's 47th most valuable player, sitting 12th in La Liga's rankings and seventh among his Real Madrid colleagues.
It's worth noting that Bernabeu officials shouldn't baulk at this figure.
They secured the player from Liverpool for around $13 million when the summer transfer window commenced last June, accepting that financial sacrifice to ensure Alonso had his new acquisition ready for the Club World Cup kick-off.
However, finding a buyer prepared to meet such a price tag will prove challenging, given Alexander-Arnold's limited game time at his current club has also resulted in his exclusion from Thomas Tuchel's recent England squad selections.

With his exit from his childhood club souring relations with Liverpool fans, doubts remain about whether Alexander-Arnold would receive a warm reception should he return to Anfield later in his playing days.
In conversation with Amazon Prime Sport before last November's Champions League meeting between Liverpool and his new team at Anfield, he said: "I will always be thankful for the opportunities [Liverpool gave me] and everything that we achieved together will live with me forever.
"So, no matter what, my feelings won't change towards Liverpool. I have got memories there that will last me a lifetime and no matter how I am received, that won't change."
