Celtic hero Chris Sutton superbly schools Liverpool fan on Brendan Rodgers and Arne Slot

Chris Sutton dealt out some facts about Arne Slot and ex-Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers after a Liverpool fan called him up fuming about both managers’ situation.

Brendan Rodgers left Celtic under a cloud after the Northern Irishman was fed up with the recruitment process at the club.

Now at Al Qadsiah, Rodgers is enjoying life in Saudi Arabia as he leaves his Celtic exit well behind him and closes another chapter in Glasgow.

As for Liverpool boss, Arne Slot, he’s under some serious fire as the Anfield club sit 14 points behind Arsenal in the title race.

And it appears Chris Sutton has annoyed one Liverpool fan with his take on Slot’s situation after one called up the Celtic hero to ‘have a bone to pick’ with the former Parkhead striker.

Celtic icon Chris Sutton puts Liverpool fan straight on Rodgers and Slot

Slot looks like he could be for the chopping block at Liverpool as their season implodes all around them.

And it appears that Sutton’s call to make a change at Anfield hasn’t gone down well with one Liverpool supporter.

A Liverpool fan called Mohamed called BBC 606 and said, “Chris, I’ve got a bone to pick with you. You’re a Celtic fan, right?”

Sutton: “No, I don’t support anybody. I’m impartial. I’m one of those pundits who’s impartial.”

Mohamed: “I mean, come on, you support Celtic, come on. And how many managers have Celtic had this season?”

Sutton: “Well, are you including Martin O’Neill twice?”

Mohamed: “Yeah, and you’ve got Nancy as well. So I never heard you say once to the Celtic fans to be patient with the board or with the manager. So why is it that we, because you’re not a fan of Liverpool, you don’t support Liverpool…”

Sutton: “But this is ridiculous, what you’re saying. Hang on a minute. So if you want to talk about Celtic, who was the first manager to go?

Mohamed: “It was… I can’t even remember, how many managers did you have in the season?”

Sutton: “It was Brendan Rodgers. Why did he end up leaving?”

Mohamed: “Because he wasn’t happy with the board.”

Sutton: ” He wasn’t happy with the recruitment. So that was why he left. So then Martin O’Neill came in briefly interim, and then Nancy and then…So it’s nothing like what’s happened at Liverpool.

“Liverpool fans are calling for Arne Slot’s head. He won the Premier League last season. I wasn’t calling for Brendan Rodgers’ head at the start of the season with Celtic.”

Martin O’Neill’s remarkable record at Celtic

Now that O’Neill has taken over at Celtic again, his record at the club remains really impressive.

In his first spell at Celtic in 2000, O’Neill was in charge of 266 games at the Parkhead club.

O’Neill won 200, drew 26 and lost just 40 in a remarkable spell that saw him win three league titles, three Scottish Cups and three League Cups and Celtic’s first treble since the Jock Stein era.

In his first interim spell, O’Neill lost just one game in eight and now back for a second time in temporary charge, a Celtic draw in Bologna was preceded by a Scottish Cup win against Auchinleck Talbot.

Whatever magic O’Neill has at Celtic, fans will be hoping that he sprinkles it at Tynecastle this afternoon.
