Liverpool teenager Luca Eden created some history for the club on Saturday as the Reds’ Under-18s thrashed Burnley.

Josh Sonni-Lambie scored a hat-trick as Liverpool won 7-1 in its latest U18 Premier League North encounter. Joshua Abe - who caught the eye this week after signing with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s brother’s agency - was also on the scoresheet, along with La’more Lee Forrester and Eden.

It was Eden’s goal, the last of the afternoon, that will go down in history, with the 14-year-old becoming the youngest goalscorer for the club’s U18s, having come off the bench to score a penalty, having won the spot-kick himself.

Eden’s latest feat comes just a month after he became the youngest ever player to play for Liverpool’s U18s.

He made his debut at the age of 14 years, eight months and 20 days against Manchester United in December.

In doing so, he surpassed Josh Davidson, who is now a regular for the club’s U21s, having made his U18s debut against Sunderland just 24 days after turning 15 back in 2020.

Who is Luca Eden?

Eden joined Liverpool as a four-year-old back in 2015 and has quickly made his way through the ranks on Merseyside.

He is currently at the U15 level at the club.

But he has become a regular for the U16s, having earned his call-up as a replacement for fellow midfielder Haydn Murray-Holme.

Eden has also gained international recognition, having captained England U15s towards the end of 2025.

The teenager attends Calday Grange Grammar School in West Kirby, which boasts actor Daniel Craig among its former students.

Eden became the first 14-year-old to represent Liverpool’s U18s last month.

A number of notable 15-year-olds, including Curtis Jones and Neco Williams, show just what could be in store for him should he continue to impress.

He is likely to play most of his games with the club's U16s for the remainder of the season, but after getting off the mark with the U18s, more opportunities in Simon Wiles' side could be on the horizon.
