Report: Chelsea are now rivalling Tottenham for Estevao's £43m pal, Carlo Ancelotti is watching him closely

With only a week left in the transfer window, things seem to be hotting up, and it is no different at Chelsea as Liam Rosenior potentially eyes two or three additions before the deadline.

Going into the window, it felt like Chelsea wouldn’t be busy having spent £300m on 10 new signings in the summer. However, that has changed, with Rennes’ Jeremy Jacquet a £60m priority for the Blues.

There is also talk of a midfielder, with on-loan Nottingham Forest ace Douglas Luiz a target for Chelsea and the potential of a new striker, too. Liam Delap has struggled since his move to Stamford Bridge.

Joao Pedro is good, but Chelsea need a no.9 that is going to score more than 20 goals a season, and the latest name to be linked with a move to West London is a player that Estevao knows incredibly well.

Chelsea learn of Palmeiras asking price for Vitor Roque

It is rare for a player to have already turned out for six clubs by the age of 20. Well, Palmeiras striker Vitor Roque is already well-travelled, playing in different countries and boasting caps for his National Team.

Starting off at America MG, he joined Cruzeiro. That form saw him go to Athletic Paranenense, where he made his name, having a hand in 39 goals in 81 games and earning a call from giants Barcelona.

Barcelona spent £25m on Roque, but he only managed 16 appearances and a loan at Betis before going back to Brazil with Palmeiras for a slightly reduced fee. He’s since played 59 times since February 2025.

A total of 20 goals has seen Roque rebuild his early reputation, and now, interest is high again. A report from Radio Tupi says that Tottenham, Man United and Chelsea are all keeping tabs on the Brazil star.

Palmeiras, who bought Roque for less than the £25m fee Barcelona spent to sign him, have slapped a £43m price tag on Roque’s head. It feels unlikely a move will happen now, but it could in the summer.

Of course, Roque combined with Estevao at Palmeiras, and the duo worked well together before Estevao moved to West London. Perhaps Estevao’s presence could give Chelsea a helping hand in talks.

What Carlo Ancelotti has said about Chelsea target Roque

Given he now has two Brazil caps and is leading the line for arguably the best side in Brazil, Roque is attracting the attention of Brazil manager and ex-Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti ahead of the World Cup.

Speaking to AS, Ancelotti raved about Roque and opened the door to a World Cup call-up in the summer: “He’s doing very well, many goals for Palmeiras. Much better than when he was at Barcelona and Betis.

“A type of striker I value. Of the 26 who will go to the World Cup, I have some players who are very clear, and others like Vitor Roque who can fight to make the final list,” Ancelotti summarised on Roque.

Chelsea may have to make a decision on the futures of their current options up top, with David Datro Fofana and Nicolas Jackson remaining on the books, while Marc Guiu may need a loan move away.
