Man City could make a move for Feyenoord right-back Givairo Read before the end of the month, according to reports.
The Daily Mail claim that Pep Guardiola’s side do hold a serious interest in the Netherlands Under 21 international.
Read would strengthen what has been a problem position for the Cityzens since Kyle Walker left (initially on loan) last January.

Matheus Nunes has performed relatively well on the right-hand side of defence this campaign, despite ostensibly being a central midfielder.
However, the Portuguese is not seen as a long-term solution, and his current understudy, Rico Lewis, has failed to kick on since making his breakthrough into the first team.
Read won’t be an expensive purchase
Securing the services of Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi were both costly in different ways, with the former commanding a sizeable transfer fee, while agent commission and wages pushed up the price of the latter.
Read, in contrast, won’t be a difficult deal to do financially, at least according to reports. A fee of around £30m may be enough for Feyenoord to sell the Dutchman, while his salary is unlikely to be an issue either.
Man City will have competition from rival clubs
Arsenal have been mentioned as a potential suitor, but Bayern Munich are expected to pose the biggest threat to the Cityzens’ plans to sign Read.
It is believed that the Bundesliga champions have been speaking to his agent for months, and they are said to be confident they have player buy-in.
However, Bayern are not expected to make a move for Read this month, and if City do make a concerted effort to snap him up before the January transfer window shuts, they may be able to sway the defender. It is definitely a story to keep an eye on over the next week or so.
