The January transfer window is a sleepy one with countless rumors flying around for one reason or another. Case in point is Guardian reporter Jacob Steinberg claiming, as captured by [@iMiaSanMia](https://x.com/iMiaSanMia/status/2015153950249410893?s=20), that Chelsea FC youngster Josh Acheampong is on Bayern Munich’s radar:
> Bayern are interested in Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong (19). The German champions are looking hard at Acheampong and despite being prepared to wait until the summer before making their move, they have not ruled out an attempt to sign him before the end of the current transfer window. Sources at Chelsea have repeatedly stressed that they want to keep the versatile defender, who has played at right-back, centre-back, left-back and defensive midfield.
It is not impossible for this report to be true, but it would be a move out of left field. More likely is the possibility that Acheampong’s agent does not like his client’s minutes being reduced and created a transfer rumor to put pressure on Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior to play the youngster more.
