DETROIT — The NBA announced on Saturday that Detroit Pistons coach J.B. Bickerstaff has earned a spot as a head coach in the 2026 NBA All-Star Game. He will coach one of the three teams in the new U.S. vs. World format, set for Feb. 15.
This will mark the first time in Bickerstaff’s career that he has received All-Star honors as a coach. He also becomes the first Pistons coach since Flip Saunders in 2006 to coach an All-Star game.
Through the first half of the 2025-26 season, Bickerstaff has led the Pistons to their best record in two decades at 32-11. He will join Cade Cunningham, who was voted as an Eastern Conference All-Star starter for the first time in his career.
The 2026 All-Star game will take place at Intuit Dome in Los Angeles and will feature a new layout: two USA teams and one international team. They will compete in a tournament-style contest featuring four 12-minute games. The top two teams will face off in the championship game.
In the Eastern Conference, Cunningham was joined by Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson and Tyrese Maxey. The Western Conference all-stars are: Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Stephen Curry, Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama.
The All-Star reserves will be announced on Feb. 1.
