Man City stretch WSL lead after Shaw strikes late & Liverpool pick up first victory

Manchester City

Manchester City manager Andree Jeglertz "I said it before, all teams we play against will do different things to make it difficult for us. London City were defending in a very good way, shut off spaces and we struggled with the transitions.

"It was a tough game, but there is something in this group that even though it is not a beautiful game, we still find ways to win, keep on going and finding diferent spaces.

"I am very happy and also proud of this winning mentality in the group."

On Kerolin scoring on her return from injury: "We need all players. Kerolin is back, Aoba Fujino is on her way back, Mary Fowler is on her way back. There are a lot of attacking threats we have. Kerolin was away for two weeks, it's awesome to have back on the field.

On being nine points clear in the title race: "There are a lot of games left, but there are no easy wins. There is a long way to go.

"We have some disappointment after we lost to them [Chelsea] in the week, so we are focused on finding another way of winning that game [next weekend]."
