"Must he play every time?", "Recipe for disaster" - Chelsea fans question Blues star's inclusion in XI for PL clash against Crystal Palace

Chelsea fans question Liam Rosenior's selection

Chelsea fans are questioning Liam Rosenior for picking Pedro Neto in the starting XI against Crystal Palace on Sunday, January 25. Many are unhappy with the Portuguese getting minutes of Jamie Gittens and Alejandro Garnacho on the left wing.

Robert Sanchez keeps his place in goal after coming off the bench for Filip Jorgensen, who picked up an injury in the UEFA Champions League game. Reece James starts at right back today, with Marc Cucurella on the left, while Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile partner in the middle.

Andrey Santos and Moises Caicedo are in the pivot, with Enzo Fernandez getting the free role. Estevao Willian and Neto are the wingers, and it is Joao Pedro who leads the attack over Liam Delap and Marc Guiu.

Chelsea fans are talking about the includsion of Neto ahead of kick off and many posted:

Cole Palmer's absence has come as a surprise, as the Englishman was in training this week. Rosenior has said that he had no fresh injury concern and said:

"The players are coming back gradually to full health. We've had to be very careful with that. Estevao was very ill, Jamie Gittens was very ill, so that altered our plans over the week in terms of what we wanted to do, but thankfully the lads have come through that as well."

"Cole [Palmer] is in a good place during training today, which is really positive and we'll assess his reaction to training. [Filip] Jorgensen had his scan, which is actually quite positive and not as bad as we first feared. He won't be available for Palace but could be potentially for Napoli. Other than that, all is good."

Chelsea can jump to fourth for the time being with a win, after Liverpool slipped up and lost to AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

Chelsea manager praises Crystal Palace

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has praised Crystal Palace as an outstanding team, adding that Selhurst Park is always a difficult place to play. He said:

"I think it can be reported in that way. What I do know is they're an outstanding team. Selhurst Park is, for me, one of the most difficult places to go in the Premier League. You have to be ready for a physical battle."

"The atmosphere in the stadium is going to be red hot so we're not taking the game lightly at all. I was fortunate enough to play against Crystal Palace early in the season. I know what a good team they are and we're going to have to be very, very good to win the game."

Chelsea drew goalless against Crystal Palace when the two sides met on the opening weekend.
