Chelsea player ratings vs Crystal Palace as Estevao Willian shines alongside 9/10 teammate

Liam Rosenior carried on his perfect start to life in the Premier League as Chelsea beat Crystal Palace 3-1 at Selhurst Park.

Despite the Blues being without Cole Palmer due to a minor injury concern, Estevao Willian filled the role nicely to be the key man for the away side.

The Brazilian broke away with class to find the net to open the scoring, before assisting Joao Pedro to make it 2-0 after the break.

Chelsea player ratings vs Crystal Palace

The Chelsea Chronicle have given out player ratings for the Blues’ magnificent win against their London rivals.

Robert Sanchez: 7/10

Robert Sanchez bailed Chelsea out early when Jean-Philippe Mateta broke away, only to see his shot saved by the Spaniard.

Reece James: 7/10

Back at right-back, Reece James enjoyed a very strong performance, keeping part of the dangerous Palace frontline completely quiet.

Trevoh Chalobah: 7/10

Very little to deal with against his former side. Trevoh Chalobah is proving to be an essential member of the Chelsea back four right now.

Benoit Badiashile: 7/10

Another impressive performance from Benoit Badiashile too. He has also rapidly made himself a key part of Rosenior’s plans.

Marc Cucurella: 7/10

Marc Cucurella enjoyed the attacking responsibilities of the inverted full-back role which Rosenior enjoys playing, always providing an extra body in the final third.

Moises Caicedo: 7/10

Walked a tightrope a bit with an early yellow card, but it was counterpart Adam Wharton who was dismissed for two fouls on Moises Caicedo.

Andrey Santos: 7/10

Andrey Santos continues to get better with every game he plays for Chelsea, and his previous experience under Rosenior is clearly helping too.

Enzo Fernandez: 8/10

Kept his cool from the penalty spot to put the Blues in an unassailable position, and was a key figure in everything they did as they won the midfield battle.

Pedro Neto: 6/10

Enjoyed a nice link-up with Cucurella, but is clearly looking as if he is falling behind the standards set by his counterpart on the opposite wing.

Estevao and Joao Pedro combine for 2-0!

Is there a world where Chelsea are actually better without Cole Palmer?

Estevao Willian: 9/10

A player with the world at his feet who simply hasn’t been getting enough opportunities to start for Chelsea in his first season at the club.

Estevao’s stunning breakaway goal gave Chelsea the lead in the first half, and played the ball into Pedro behind that doubled Chelsea’s advantage at Selhurst Park.

Joao Pedro: 9/10

A really solid number nine performance from Pedro, whose ability to keep hold of the ball was crucial to Chelsea going forwards.

Found the net in composed fashion early in the second half, and Chelsea never looked back.

Subs: Malo Gusto, Jamie Gittens, Wesley Fofana, Jorrel Hato, Liam Delap: All N/A
