A British retail company added to Arne Slot's nightmare by jokingly fueling rumors of Xabi Alonso's possible return to Liverpool.

The Reds were defeated 3-2 by Bournemouth on Saturday as they succumbed to Amine Adli's last-minute winner to suffer a seventh Premier League loss of the season. Remaining without a league victory in 2026, the pressure on Slot's position continues to heat up with the Reds now outside of the top four thanks to Chelsea's 3-1 win at Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The defeat at the Vitality Stadium was a hard one to take for Liverpool fans across the globe, but it was a source of humor for Currys, an electrical retailer that was founded in London in 1884.

Known for its humor-filled posts on X, Currys took advantage of the added pressure on Slot by superimposing an image of Alonso entering a branch in Liverpool.

Currys' post read: "Is that who we think it is at Liverpool Currys?" - and it has since been viewed over 177,000 times.

On top of the disappointment of the result, it was Bournemouth's second goal in particular that saw Slot in particular come in for criticism. In the midst of Evanilson netting the opener, Joe Gomez collided with Alisson Becker, and the Englishman needed to be replaced during the first half.

With the 28-year-old unable to continue, Wataru Endo was called from the bench to replace him, but nine minutes passed between Bournemouth's first goal and the Japan captain actually making his way onto the pitch.

His introduction even came two minutes after Alex Jimenez doubled his side's lead. Despite Liverpool having the opportunity to bring on Endo quicker, the midfielder was receiving instructions from Slot and his coaching staff.

The delay annoyed Jamie Redknapp, who said on Sky Sports: "You can tell it’s a bad collision, and with Joe Gomez’s history with injuries. Then you get seven minutes to make a substitution. This is one opportunity, this is a free-kick. Endo comes on, he’s obviously not ready at this minute, I’ve no idea why, you’re now playing with 10 men.

"Arne Slot is thinking, 'We've got to make a change because we don't want to concede another goal.' They’re telling him what to do, just get him on the pitch, don’t worry about giving him all that information right now, you could concede a goal. That was two minutes, they still wait seven minutes."

Slot recognized the importance of bringing Endo as soon as possible, as the Dutchman could be seen telling Alisson to kick the ball out of play before it became 2-0, but the Brazilian was unaware of his manager's instruction.

"It’s difficult, Alisson, could he kick it out of play?" the former Liverpool captain added. "Anything just to make this substitution happen.

"They get him on too late. Watch Arne Slot at the bottom left-hand side of your screen; he wants that ball, 'Kick it out of play, kick it out of play' - and he [Alisson] obviously doesn’t see it.

"So you’re 1-0, you don’t get him on in time, and then they concede another goal. It’s almost amateurish; that cannot happen. You’ve got to make the decisions; these are the details that could cost you a game."
