What Liam Rosenior thinks is truly 'outstanding' about Chelsea star Estevao since he became boss

Liam Rosenior will have been delighted to watch his Chelsea side cruise to an easy win over Crystal Palace on Sunday at Selhurst Park, with one Blues star head and shoulders above the rest.

Rosenior has made huge changes to his side every week since taking over, totalling eight for the game against Charlton and today, six more. Andrey Santos, Trevoh Chalobah and Marc Cucurella all started.

Cole Palmer was missing from the entire squad, while Enzo Fernandez was a doubt due to illness but he started in the midfield alongside Moises Caicedo and Santos. Yet, it was Rosenior’s changes that worked.

Brazilian duo Joao Pedro and Estevao, two more inclusions in the starting line-up following the win over Pafos. Estevao opened the scoring with a stunning solo effort before the winger created Chelsea’s second.

Liam Rosenior heaps praise on Chelsea star Estevao

It was just Estevao’s third goal for Chelsea but it was a special one. Rosenior seems to be getting the best out of everyone at the moment, even if he is having to rotate his squad to keep everyone fit currently.

Speaking after the match as per BBC Sport’s Nizaar Kinsella, Chelsea boss Rosenior was asked about Estevao. He said that despite being ill, Estevao has been good in all of the times he has played under him.

“He is a player with special ability and talent. He has been ill, but every time he has been on the pitch with me, he has been outstanding,” Rosenior said on the Brazilian teen, who netted his sixth Chelsea goal.

There were a few candidates for the man of the match but when it came to big moments in the match, only Estevao was front and centre, making a difference. Two goal involvements for the winger on the day.

It will certainly provide a headache for Rosenior when Chelsea go to Napoli in the week to take on former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte. Rosenior must pick from his four options out wide on Wednesday night.

Neto has struggled since Rosenior took over as Chelsea manager and Jamie Gittens, despite impressing on debut, has been ill and struggled for game time. Right now, Estevao and Alejandro Garnacho will start.
