Liam Rosenior hopes he is winning over Chelsea fans after his side beat Crystal Palace to make it back-to-back Premier League victories since he was installed as head coach.
There was some scepticism among supporters after Rosenior was brought in from French club Strasbourg.
But the visiting fans chanted Rosenior’s name afterthe 3-1 win at Selhurst Parkand Rosenior seems to be bringing them on-side.
“I hope so. I’m very happy to be here – it’s a fantastic club with fantastic supporters,” he said.
“It’s two-way. I have to earn it. I’m aware of that. And I hope over time I’ll see that something good may happen here.
“The reason I get that today was the hard work of everyone on the training pitch, the players on the pitch. Hopefully myself and the staff and the players can make them really happy in the days to come.”
Estevao, playing in the absence of Cole Palmer, put the Blues ahead and Joao Pedro made it 2-0 with his fourth goal in his past five league appearances, before Enzo Fernandez’s penalty and the 73rd-minute sending-off of Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton.
The 10-man hosts got a consolation goal when Chris Richards headed in late on.
“I think today was a huge test,” Rosenior said.
“You can’t get carried away and there’s still things that we really need to correct.
“It’s one game. We have to make sure that we’re consistent in every game we play.”
