Liverpool score two injury time goals to pick up first win of 2026

After weeks of frustration, the Reds deliver when it matters most with a stunning late twist.

The Women’s Super League is one of the toughest domestic competitions in Europe.

It brings together clubs with full-time squads, big budgets, and international stars. Every point is hard to get.

For teams at the bottom, every match can feel like a final.

That has been Liverpool’s reality this season.

Week after week, they have pushed for results without reward. Performances showed effort, but the table showed something else.

The Reds had gone 12 league games without a win. Confidence was tested. Pressure grew. Yet the team kept turning up.

At St Helens, the mood before kick-off was one of hope mixed with frustration. Liverpool were coming off a strong FA Cup win.

They knew they could compete. They just needed the league result to match the work. The crowd sensed it too. The team played with urgency. They stayed brave. They believed something would change.

For long periods, it looked like another painful afternoon. Chances came and went. The ball hit the woodwork.

The clock ran down. But Liverpool kept pushing. They refused to settle for a draw. They stayed on the front foot until the final seconds.

What followed was the moment the season had been waiting for.

Liverpool scored twice in added time to beat Tottenham 2-0 and claim their first WSL win of the 2025-26 season.

Mia Enderby, who sustained a neck injury against Tottenham in November, came on in the 81st minute, delivered both goals.

She met a Jenna Clark cross to finish from close range after three minutes of injury time had been played. Then, in the 95th minute, she ran through to score again.

Liverpool manager Gareth Taylor said: “Really satisfying.”

He added: “It probably looked at some stages like we weren’t going to get it. The girls willed the ball into the net today.”

After the second goal, he explained the team’s mentality: “The second goal shows what we’re about as a team, being on the front foot.”

He also said: “We created a lot of good chances and we looked more like what we wanted to be.”

Victory moved Liverpool to seven points, just one behind West Ham. Tottenham remain fifth.

Spurs boss Martin Ho admitted: “We weren’t at it.”

He continued: “Liverpool were the better team and we didn’t get up to speed at all.”

For Liverpool, this win means more than three points. It means belief is back.
