Liverpool might be in for a quiet transfer window but who has AI predicted will arrive at Anfield this winter?

Liverpool have been feast or famine in recent transfer windows with Arne Slot unlikely to add too many players this winter.

Several have been linked, however, potential targets like Adam Wharton and Yan Diomande are being considered for the summer. In terms of immediate arrivals, the rumour mill has been quiet. With Man City seeing both Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi arrive, it isn’t a surprise to see those of a red persuasion frustrated.

Who have Liverpool been tipped to sign?

According to Artificial Intelligence bot Grok on X though, one high profile arrival shouldn’t be ruled out. There will be “minimal senior activity” although if the opportunity presents itself for Richard Hughes and injuries occur, there won’t be an overhaul, but there could be a “high upside, compliant addition” made. In short, a player who is first team ready and an upgrade on what Slot currently has available.

In terms of players who might be shock January arrivals, there are two names that Grok has suggested. Adam Wharton at Crystal Palace would add midfield depth. Wharton fits Slot's double-pivot need for composure, progression, and defensive steel. There has been nothing concrete, but Liverpool are credited with an interest and have even been mentioned as possibly being the front runners for his signature.

In terms of transfer fee, Crystal Palace have a gentleman’s agreement with Wharton over a £60m move to a Champions League club. Liverpool are skirting with the top four with a run of positive results needed to pull away from the pack. What Grok also did was suggest a name that hasn’t been mentioned but who would fit the profile and current need in the Liverpool squad. A lot of the good work has already been done, but injuries have highlighted a few areas of concern.

AI makes Liverpool transfer recommendations

While not a prominent January transfer rumour or a name being reported, Ito makes excellent sense as a versatile, ball-playing centre-back/right-back option according to Grok. The Japanese international is composed in possession and is an astute passer of the ball in terms of being able to break the lines — ideal for Slot's build-from-back emphasis and situational back-three transitions. Ito would address vulnerabilities at centre-half and right-back cover after injury to Conor Bradley.

Looking ahead to the summer, Grok has predicted a quality over quantity approach with Diomande, potentially, top of the shopping list. Other links suggest a lean summer with a move for a wide forward "post-Salah", Micky van de Ven and Nico Schlotterbeck are high up the list as possible alternatives at centre-half with Andre from Wolves being considered for midfield, with January more about monitoring than action.

Grok also predicted possible departures. Chiesa could leave for Juventus and free up minor funds/space on the wage bill. The Italian could be one of a few to leave, primarily to trim fringes, manage wages, and PSR. Potential for prospects like Calvin Ramsay (retained as cover despite interest) or others (e.g., James Norris to Shelbourne); minor loans for development.

Liverpool’s requirements are pretty well known, a right-back, centre-half, defensive midfielder and winger are all needed. Hughes will also have to move players on like Chiesa , Ramsay, Konate and maybe even Alexis Mac Allister if Wharton is signed.
