AS Roma director Frederic Massara says the Italian club has held "dialogue" with Liverpool regarding Kostas Tsimikas, who could be recalled if Andy Robertson departs.
Tottenham has held talks with Liverpool regarding Robertson, with the Scotland captain looking for more regular game time. Spurs want to sign him now rather than wait for when his contract could expire in the summer, with the player having a decision to make.
However, if he was to depart, that would leave Liverpool light at the back when Arne Slot is already short of options. Bringing Tsimikas back could be a solution, with the Greek struggling for game time under Gian Piero Gasperini.

Al-Shabab’s Yannick Carrasco and Nicolo Fortini at Fiorentina have been linked with moves to Roma too.
"They are all situations that are evolving," Massara told DAZN. "We are in a dialogue with Liverpool and we’ll see how that evolves over the next few days.
"Carrasco is a talented player, but in January it is never easy to do deals. We have a week left to see if there are any solutions that can truly strengthen the squad, which is already competitive."

Robertson played for Liverpool as the Reds lost 3-2 at Bournemouth on Saturday. He came off the bench at half-time to replace Milos Kerkez, who Slot said needed to be managed fitness-wise.
Losing a player of his experience would be a blow and Virgil van Dijk told reporters he was keen for Robertson to stay, even if he could offer no insight as to which way the player and Liverpool would decide.
"Of course I speak to him," Van Dijk said. "Every day. He’s my vice-captain.
"Robbo is a very important member of our team and I want him to stay but whatever happens, let’s see."

Liverpool will only let Robertson leave if it suits all parties. Tsimikas coming back could replace his spot in the team, with Kerkez the number one pick in that position.
The winter transfer window closes at 7pm UK time (2pm ET) on Monday, February 2. At that point, clubs will not be able to do deals until the summer.
Liverpool.com says: Robertson leaving would not be ideal but Tsimikas could fill the gap. He showed last season that he was a decent fit for Slot and popped up with some important moments.
