Michael Carrick is two for two with Manchester United following a 3-2 win over Arsenal in the Premier League, but Roy Keane is still not convinced he's the right man for a permanent head coach role

Roy Keane told Micah Richards that he was "being silly," after he asked if Michael Carrick was the right man for a permanent head coaching role with Manchester United. The Red Devils enjoyed an emphatic 3-2 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday evening, in a match that was jam-packed with drama.
As a result, Carrick is unbeaten in his first two matches in charge of United, having stepped in on an interim basis until season's end following the sacking of Ruben Amorim earlier this month. However, former club captain, Keane, isn't convinced that the 44-year-old should be considered for permanent tenure at Old Trafford.
Speaking on Sky Sports ' Super Sunday coverage after the result, Richards asked: "Would you give it Carrick then now?" before a stone-faced Keane replied: "The job? No, you're being silly now.
"Yeah, two great performances...anyone can win two games, it's what he does at the end of the season. Even if they do get into fourth, I still wouldn't be convinced that he's the man for the job. Absolutely not.
"I still think they need a bigger and better manager. But he's got the opportunity - what a chance it is for him, and do you know what, he's taking it so fair play to him."
Carrick, meanwhile, was far more positive after the match, telling media: "I'm enjoying it. It's a fantastic position to be in. What happens next I'm not going to be answering it every week. I'm enjoying it and I'll continue to do what I can."
It was an incredible night in north London for Manchester United, who climb to fourth in the Premier League standings - and one step closer to securing European qualification - as a result of their 3-2 win over the table topping Gunners.

It was an impressive start for Arsenal, who piled the pressure on the visitors thick and fast from the outset. Lisandro Martinez conceded an own goal 29 minutes into play while hashing a clearance in his six-yard box, inadvertently setting the tone for what ultimately unfolded as a high-intensity match packed with drama.
However, Arsenal didn't hold the advantage for long. Around eight minutes later, Declan Rice's inaccurate pass back toward David Raya was intercepted by Bryan Mbeumo, who quickly rounded the shot-stopper before firing into an open goal.
Five minutes after the break, Patrick Dorgu found the back of the net with a wondrous volley from the edge of the area, as United looked to hold onto a 2-1 lead for the remainder of the meeting. Mikel Merino managed to level matters with around six minutes of normal time left to play, but his efforts were ultimately nulled and voided just three minutes later.
That's because Matheus Cunha sealed the deal for United with a curling effort spiralling past Raya, before wheeling off in celebration. Up next for Carrick and United is a home match with Fulham in a week's time. Arsenal, meanwhile, take on Kairat in the Champions League on Wednesday evening, as they continue to chase glory in Europe.
