Liverpool are on the market for a new left-back as Andy Robertson looks likely to leave Anfield

Reports now heavily suggest the Scotland international could be leaving Anfield this window to join the Reds’ Premier League rivals. Sky Sports has reported that Liverpool and Spurs are negotiating a £5 million package, while Ben Jacobs says Robertson is ‘keen’ on the idea of a move to north London.

The Reds are set to recall Kostas Tsimikas from his loan with Roma if Robertson leaves this window. However, the Greek full-back will merely be a stop-gap figure, as Liverpool are already eyeing up new options for the summer.

Liverpool reconsidering move for summer target Antonee Robinson

While Liverpool were searching for a left-back last summer, Antonee Robinson was a leading target on their radar. In the end, they opted to pursue Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth but the Fulham star was heavily considered.

The door might be open once again for the Reds to negotiate for Robinson. According to TEAMtalk, Liverpool are ‘back on the trail’ for the 28-year-old and are ‘preparing a fresh bid’ to finally bring him to Anfield.

Robinson was a ‘preferred option’ for Liverpool over the summer and now, discussions have ‘reopened’. The Reds plan to bring Tsimikas back for the remainder of the season but Robinson appears to be a target moving into the next campaign and beyond.

The Liverpool board reportedly view a partnership of Kerkez and Robinson as ‘the ideal long-term partnership’ for their left-back department.

Fulham interested in two Liverpool players

While Liverpool are back in the frame for Robinson, Fulham are also browsing the Anfield catalogue for potential signings of their own.

The Reds are said to be ‘exploring the possibility’ of sending Tsimikas in the opposite direction this summer. The Greece international is not viewed as a part of Liverpool’s long-term plans, so he will be looking for regular minutes elsewhere. Naturally, the departure of Robinson will open up a spot for him.

Fulham have also registered their interest in re-signing Harvey Elliott as his future also hangs in the balance. This idea has been raised during conversations between the two clubs, as Elliott looks increasingly likely to leave Anfield at the end of the season.

The 22-year-old signed for Liverpool from Fulham in 2019. Despite his desire to stay at Anfield, he has been seriously deprived of regular football - even at loan club Aston Villa, who has been dropped completely by Unai Emery.
