**Liverpool Women have picked up their first league win of the season.**
Gareth Taylor’s side headed into Sunday’s home encounter with Tottenham on the back of a 12-game run which left them rooted to the foot of the WSL.
But two late goals from substitute Mia Enderby handed the Reds their first maximum points of the campaign to boost hopes of a relegation escape.
The victory over the Londoners at St Helens Stadium came after the hosts had hit the woodwork three times heading into second-half added time.
“It probably looked at some stage that we weren’t going to get it, certainly when Alice \[Bergstrom\] hit the post in the 91st of 94 minutes,” admitted Taylor.
“But football does that, it can give you another opportunity. The girls willed the ball into the net today. I thought Ceri \[Holland\] was excellent throughout.
“We’ve managed to keep the ball after the free-kick hits the post and Mia does what we expect our No.9 to do, which is get across the keeper.
“The second one was great because it shows what we want to be about in terms of being on the front foot, rather than drop off and surrender.
“The girls did it today. I thought we had a lot of good chances in the second half, a lot of box entries.
“We haven’t had that this season, I’ll be honest. I think today we looked a bit more look like what we want to be.
“The players are going to make a big difference for us.”
