Liverpool have reportedly pulled the plug on Andy Robertson ’s move to Tottenham.
The left-back had been inching closer to a £5million switch to North London as he approaches the end of his Anfield contract. £40m summer signing Milos Kerkez struggled after his move from Bournemouth but the Hungary international's form has picked up and Robertson has remained in reserve.
But according The Times, the Reds have pulled the plug on any discussions and will not consider his exit. The Premier League giants have informed Tottenham that they have been unable to find a replacement for the 31-year-old.
The decision comes less than 24 hours after Robertson came off the bench during Saturday’s clash with Bournemouth, with boss Arne Slot admitting he was keen for the Scotland international to stay beyond the January window.
He said: "I think I need all of my players. I thought, let's bring Robbo in at half-time to make sure Milos [Kerkez] stays available for the rest of the season, because there are a lot of games to be played with the players that are available. I have to manage that, as well, because the last thing we need right now is another injury."
Robertson had been eyeing regular game time before the World Cup and is poised to swap nine-and-a-half trophy laden years at Liverpool for a fresh start in the Premier League. Robertson – linked with boyhood club Celtic – has won two Premier League titles and the Champions League as well as the FA Cup and the League Cup with the Reds.

Scotland legend Kevin Gallacher admitted to having concerns about Robertson and his form going into the tournament in North America if he remained at Anfield - despite reports suggesting the left-back did not "agitate" for an exit.
Writing for The Sunday Post, he said: "If it is an ideal world we are talking about, he should be staying put and filling the left-back role for Arne Slot every week.
"Staying put at the club he won the Champions League and two titles with over the last decade. The club where he is an absolute legend with the fans.
"But he is not getting a regular game and, with the World Cup coming up, that must be a concern for him.
"Andy will need no one to tell him this might be his last chance to play at the finals. Instead, Slot has chosen to keep the faith with Milos Kerkez.
"He did so even when, the 22-year-old Hungary internationalist struggled in the early days after his £40 million move from Bournemouth, when switching him out for the more experienced Scot would have been an easy call to justify.
"And now he has his reward as Kerkez has become one of the top performing players in the team.

"Andy has to think about that. Just like he has to think about the fact he only has five months left on his deal."
