Liverpool have pulled the plug on Andy Robertson's move to Spurs.

Tottenham Hotspur were reportedly in the process of securing a deal to bring Liverpool's Andy Robertson into their fold this month. Now the Telegraph are reporting that the deal is now off.

The 31-year-old full-back, whose contract with Liverpool expires this summer, had been on Spurs' radar for a while. However, they had expedited their plans to sign the Scottish international.

As per David Ornstein from The Athletic, Tottenham have fast-tracked their pursuit of Robertson to bolster head coach Thomas Frank's squad without delay. The Anfield stalwart, who has won numerous titles with Liverpool, is expected to bring a wealth of experience and leadership to the Spurs team.

During the summer, Atletico Madrid showed interest in Robertson as they sought to strengthen their left-back position following the departures of Reinildo and Cesar Azpilicueta. However, they eventually signed Matteo Ruggeri from Atalanta instead.

Consequently, Robertson has found himself further down the pecking order under Arne Slot after the arrival of Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

When quizzed about his future last month, Robertson expressed his desire to play regularly. "I've got five months left and we need to see what the option is to stay or if there's options to go and things like that," he stated.

"I need to sit down with my family and decide.

"After a stressful summer, I'm just trying to enjoy being a part of it and being a Liverpool player.

"I wanted to qualify for the World Cup and thankfully, we've managed to do that. I need to see what myself and my family wants going forward."

Robertson arrived at Liverpool from Hull City for a bargain £8million in 2017 and has since racked up 363 appearances, netting 12 goals and delivering 68 assists, cementing his status amongst the club's defensive legends.
