Salah back in Saudi Pro League orbit for a summer move

Salah

Mohamed Salah is back at the centre of Saudi Arabia’s next transfer push among a 50-player shortlist for summer 2026.

According to reports, Salah tops the headline names, alongside Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, Vinícius Júnior, and Robert Lewandowski.

Three clubs in particular, Al Hilal, NEOM FC, and Al Qadsiah, are said to have been briefed on his situation. Transfer rumours linking Salah to a move to Saudi Arabia are not in any way new. Al Ittihad once saw a £150m bid rejected in 2023, and could potentially return, albeit the transfer fee will be substantially lower this time around.

Meanwhile, Saudi officials made exploratory contact after Salah aired tensions with Arne Slot in December. Slot has since played down any rift and moved to reintegrate Salah immediately.

In parallel, interested clubs can still approach the Egyptian forward’s camp directly, and reports say they already have.

Still, it is understood that Liverpool want Salah to see out his contract until summer 2027. An early departure is being floated as plausible if the Reds reshape their right-sided attack and don’t want to lose their talisman on a free.

The Saudi strategy is shifting toward prime-age signings, not just late-career stars. That shift also fits a league preparing for deeper privatisation across the PIF clubs.
