Sacramento Kings asking price on Keon Ellis trade revealed, per report

The Kings are reportedly looking for a first-round asset in a Keon Ellis deal.

Keon Ellis' days as a Sacramento King are already numbered as he is set to be dealt before the trade deadline.

In his latest Substack report, NBA insider Marc Stein noted that Ellis is widely considered to be moved on the Feb. 5 key date. However, there is a perception that Sacramento is seeking a first-round pick from numerous interested teams for a potential deal.

"Sacramento's Keon Ellis is the most likely player to be traded between now and the Feb. 5 deadline. Numerous teams are in pursuit of Ellis, with the Kings believed to seeking a first-round pick. One source close to the process essentially describes an Ellis trade as an inevitability," Stein wrote.

Ellis stands as one of the prominent names in the trade market this season. Beyond his 3-and-D capabilities, his cheap and tradable $2.3 million contract is significantly enticing, especially among contending clubs.

He is now in his fourth season as a King, but his role has been generally uncertain under head coach Doug Christie. His numbers are low with a 5.3 points average in an inconsistent 38.4 percent shooting in 17.3 minutes across 39 games.

It remains to be seen if any team will give a draft asset just to acquire the 26-year-old guard.
