The Wizards are set to drop a "significant offer" on Walker Kessler as the Jazz big man will hit the 2026 offseason as a restricted free agent.
The Utah Jazz are expected to get Walker Kessler back long-term in the upcoming offseason, but a rising Eastern Conference team is reportedly poised to challenge them for the service of the big man.

Per ESPN's Tim MacMahon, the Jazz are inclined to retain Kessler and are confident to re-sign him as a restricted free agent. But league sources indicated that the Washington Wizards will enter the sweepstakes to give the big man a "significant offer."
“They (Jazz) are optimistic Walker Kessler will be back in Utah, and they have final say due to his restricted free agency. ... The word around the league is the Wizards are fairing to make him a significant offer,” MacMahon said, via Bryson Akins of Wizards on SI.
Kessler and Utah couldn’t agree on a rookie scale extension last offseason, making him a restricted free agent next year.
The center only played five games this year after a season-ending surgery to fix his shoulder injury (torn labrum).
The Jazz holds the advantage as they have the right to match any market offer from other teams to Kessler, but their willingness to topple the potential upcoming contract the Wizards will put on the table is yet to be known.
