The Nets head coach challenged his team to choose their identity in the wake of an ongoing atrocious slump.
In the aftermath of their 126-89 crushing loss on Sunday against the Los Angeles Clippers, head coach Jordi Fernandez didn't hold back in his key takeaway about his awful Brooklyn Nets squad.
Brooklyn Nets / Schedule
"18 minutes out of 48, from the six-minute mark in the second quarter through the third quarter, those minutes were a response in terms of playing a good brand of basketball and not dropping your shoulders. We won the third quarter and were competitive in those six minutes of the second. Outside of that, the other 30 minutes we played like a losing team," he said in his postgame address.
"I’ve brought this up before—you can lose and you can be a loser. For 18 minutes we lost and were competitive, and for 30 we were losers. We have to decide what we want to be and who we want to be."
The weekend loss marked the fifth consecutive for the Nets. Their record worsened to 12-32 as they are currently No. 13 in the Eastern Conference standings.
